December 2, 2025 - A recent study by the UMMD shows that minimally invasive liver surgery with robotic assistance is significantly less stressful on the immune system than traditional open procedures. Published in the journal Surgical Endoscopy, the study provides the first immunological data to scientifically substantiate the advantages of robotic surgery.
December 2, 2025 – Starting in January 2026, the Johanniter Hospital in Stendal will serve as a pilot site for a psychosomatic teleconsultation service as part of the UMMD's ISA research project. Led by Prof. Florian Junne and Dr. Marius Binneböse, the teleconsultation service will enable remote consultation for psychosomatic stress, for example, via tablets directly at the patient's bedside.
December 1, 2025 – The UMMD deployed its mobile neuroradiology intervention team in Wernigerode for the first time. This strengthens rapid, local, high-quality stroke care in the region and closes gaps in care when no interventional service is available locally at short notice.
